I recently got a same day iPhone screen repair from Best Buy. It was actually pretty quick taking only about 30 minutes plus I guess they have the machine that pairs the finger print sensor to the phone. Overall, I think it took them less time to fix it then if I took it to the busy Apple Store.

The offer runs for two weeks, from June 13 through June 27. It will not apply to screen replacements through uBreakiFix, Best Buy, and Samsung repair vans. You are also out of luck if you have an international model that was not officially sold in the US.

Samsung charges upwards of $200 to replace the cracked display on almost all its flagship Galaxy S and Note lineup of phones. The Galaxy S22 and S21 Ultra screen replacements typically cost a whopping $289. For its mid-range A series, the pricing is mainly in the range of $129 to $159, while for budget phones, it starts from $79. You can find the official display repair pricing for all Samsung devices on its support page.

Before you send or bring your phone for repairs, back up your phone, remove the SIM card, then factory reset your phone. A factory reset deletes all data saved on your phone. If you can't factory reset your phone, log out of your Google Account on the phone:

If you can't turn on your phone to reset it or your phone isn't factory reset when you bring it to a repair partner, they'll reset it for you. Remember to keep the SIM card with you before you ship your phone.

If your technical needs are small, you have an IT team, or you are a small business with tech-savvy employees, then Geek Squadmay not be your best answer. In the few cases when you cannot solve an issue on your own, you may find a local computer repair shop quicker and more cost-effective. Be sure to check out our list of top Geek Squad alternatives below.

Geek Squad also has protection plans for several devices that you might purchase from Best Buy. For example, phone protection starts at about $15.99 per year based on the price of the device purchased. At the top-end, you can expect to pay about $99.99 per year for protection, which amounts to repair or full replacement should the device fail as a result of day-to-day usage and normal wear and tear.

In fact, for devices with screens, Geek Squad will repair things like dead pixels to ensure optimized viewability. The range of devices is also extensive; Geek Squad repairs and replaces everything from personal shavers to appliances that might be used in your kitchenette.

The MacBook Air was first released in 2008, so there are a lot of models in the wild that might need their screens replaced. The cost of the repair will depend on the model of the MacBook Air, as well as the problem it is having with its screen. Below I will cover the most common models I see for repair and the cost of repairing each model. I have been repairing MacBook Air screens since the beginning, and after repairing a few thousand screens personally, I can confidently say I am an expert Mac screen repair tech.

There are multiple parts in a display assembly, and chances are they do not all need to be replaced in order to get your computer fully working again. Knowing the basic parts that are required to complete your MacBook screen repair will help you select the correct repair for your needs.

If you have a MacBook Air that is not covered under AppleCare+, you will spend between $450 and $650 repairing your screen through Apple. There are a couple of different ways that the display repair is billed, so the price you are quoted will vary, but these are the standard quotes. Note that each damage tier is added to by a labor charge, which is usually $100. So a Tier 1 repair is usually about $280 for the MacBook Air + a $100 labor charge.

AppleCare+ does partially cover the cost of repairing a cracked screen on a MacBook Air. When you buy your computer, you are given the option to purchase AppleCare+. If you decide to purchase AppleCare+ and crack your screen, the total for the repair will be $99.

Their actual repair capabilities on the store level seem to vary from store to store, but all the Best Buys in my area do not have Mac technicians in the actual store. They do have iPhone technicians and offer screen repair for iPhones (sometimes same-day repairs are available). But for Mac repair, they ship the computer out to be repaired and then have it shipped back to the store after repair.

The display assembly replacement is a lot easier and can be completed by somebody with some technical repair experience. Apple has a self-repair program that covers the A2337 model MacBook Air. You can read about the program and get links in my 2020 M1 MacBook Air screen replacement guide.

I will say I have seen a lot of damaged screens when people attempt to repair the LCD panel on a MacBook Air themselves. Normally the damage is not fixable and you have to then replace the entire display assembly. I have a troubleshooting page for the A1466 MacBook Air if you have attempted a repair and ran into problems.

I have put together a few guides on how to replace the LCD yourself. I currently have a 2010-2017 display and LCD replacement guide available. I also have started working on an A2337 display replacement guide that is still a work in progress. I am also working on making video guides for screen repair and hope to have those posted by the March of 2023.

This is a great question to discuss with the shop you are thinking of doing the repair. Most of the time the answer is yes, it is worth repairing a MacBook Air screen if the MacBook Air is useful to you. The cost of the repair usually decreases with time, so older MacBook Airs will cost less to repair than newer MacBook Airs.

A 2018 survey from SquareTrade, an Allstate company that offers protection plans, found that 66% of smartphone owners damaged their phones during the previous year. However, cracked and scratched screens were the most common types of damage, and over a third of smartphone owners report they didn't get their screens fixed.

For example, the benefit may only apply when the original manufacturer's warranty is for less than three years, and the maximum extension could be an additional year or two. Manufacturers' warranties also won't help to repair or replace your phone if it's accidentally damaged, lost or stolen. However, the extended warranty could be helpful if your phone has a defect.

Similar to how going to a local mechanic can be cheaper than taking your car to the dealership, you may be able to save money by bringing your broken device to an independent repair shop. If you're DIY-minded, you can also buy a repair kit and follow along with online tutorials to get your phone working again.

Rather than spending $10 a month on insurance, you might instead set the money aside in a phone-repair fund. It might not cover the entire cost of a repair, but it'll help reduce costs. Go without needing a phone repair for long enough and you might even save enough to buy yourself a new phone.

Best Buy is among the most trusted tech retail chains in the USA, and it also helps that they happen to be all over the place. There are close to 1,500 locations in the U.S. alone. This is why their Geek Squad is among the most popular services for repairing all kinds of technology, that includes phone repair. 041b061a72
